Time to Move On
Tom Petty | 1994

One of the many highlights of the fabulous ‘Wildflowers’ album, ‘Time to Move On’ works on many different levels, both musically and lyrically. The general musical feel and mood is a striking reflection of Buffalo Springfield's work, most notably Stephen Stills' ‘Go and Say Goodbye’. Although the melody is different, the chord progression and overall vibe is strikingly similar and beautiful, with its quick, countrified two-step rhythm. One of Tom Petty's lesser-known masterpieces.
